Goals of Title I Parental |
To inform parents of school children:
Reasons their children are participating.
The specific instructional objectives and methods of the program.
To support the effort of parents to work with children in the home to attain the instructional objects of the program.
To train teachers, principals, and other staff members involved in the district’s Title I program to work effectively with parents.
To consult with parents concerning the manner in which the school and parents can work better together to achieve objectives.
To provide comprehensive range of opportunities for parents to become informed about how the program will be designed, operated and evaluated.
To allow opportunities for parental participation so parents and educators can work together to achieve the programs objectives.
To ensure opportunities, to the extent practical, for the full participation of parents who lack literacy skills or whose native language is not English.

|
Responsibilities |
In order to become informed about the law, Parents should be sure to attend the Title I parental involvement (PAC) meetings, and other activities offered at their school. They should also be prepared to become real participants in their children’s education. Sometimes that means making a few sacrifices, but the reward is more than worth it—sharing in the preparation of your children for a good and fulfilling future.
