The main objective of this course is for students to gain very basic Spanish language skills. The course begins with the alphabet and vowel sounds and progresses by adding daily vocabulary and phrases. If a student does not know Spanish or has limited Spanish abilities and wishes to take Spanish I in the future, this course will be helpful.

Each grammar point is related to its function in society or to its role in communication. A variety of cultural insights and commonly used phrases will be used. Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to participate successfully in a simple everyday conversation. One credit toward high school graduation is earned.
