SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICES |
Children of all ages must be physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy so they are able to learn. Health problems make learning harder. As your child's nurse I have set the following goals to support your child's education:
*Maintain a healthy enviroment so children can learn effectively.
*Help each child maintain the highest possible level of health.
*Identify potential health issues and help families address them.
*Teach children healthy habits. | |

HEALTHY HABITS |
**Have a regular bedtime for your child.
**Make sure your child eats regular meals. Breakfast is especially important.
**Encourage your child to eat healthy foods. Try snacks such as fruits, raw vegetables, yogurt, and cheese.
**Teach your child to wash their hands regularly--and always before eating and after using the bathroom.
**Always make sure your child dresses appropriately for the weather. | | |

REASONS FOR BEING SENT HOME |
1. Temperature of 100 degrees or more. Please do not send your child back to school until they are 24 hours temperature free.
2. Vomiting.
3. Skin "rashes" that are suspicious and require a note from the doctor stating the condition is not contagious.
4. "Pink eye" or conjunctivitis. Must have a note from the doctor stating it is not contagious, or has been on antibiotics for 24 hours.
5. Head injuries or other traumas that require emergency treatment.
I do my best to keep our students at school if at all possible. Remember, each child is different and unique.
Also, when your child has been sent to the nurse's office, I may need to contact you. It is very hard to contact you if you have not filled out the emergency contact information. Please make sure all your contact information is up to date. | |

Clean reusable kids clothing. Please consider recycling your children's clothing for use in the Nurse's Office. | | |
